*barf* - flex may have it’s upsides, but it’s by no means the future of the internet. May I remind everyone that flex is based on proprietary flash. The internet is about OPEN-ness, meaning that we can’t (as a global community) contribute to the base functions of flash (or flex). Furthermore, with new W3C standards, experts are trying to add the same much needed functionality to the standard model, in an attempt to further estrange adobe products from feigning a key role in closed internet development. New standards will include (or in some cases already do) the Canvas object, which is an OPEN, standards-based way to imitate .swf functionality - as well as HTML tags which will natively handle embedded video and audio. Good-bye flash!!
